Set on the oxbow-shaped King’s Pool Lagoon in the private Linyanti Wildlife concession, King’s Pool blends chic, thatch-and-canvas suites with a front-row seat to elephant corridors and predator country. Days flow from drives and guided walks to eye-level viewing in the underground hide and relaxed barge cruises for sundowners. Nights are cooled by the lagoon breeze and stargazing decks. Fully solar-powered camp, with in-room Wi-Fi (not in communal areas) and quietly polished service. A highlight is definitely the constant wildlife activity around the lodge.

Activities
Day & night game drives; guided walks; seasonal boating/barge cruises; underground & water-level hides; seasonal catch-and-release fishing; optional scenic helicopter flights.

Our Favorite Rooms

All tented suites are identical. The Family Suite (two interleading bedrooms with private plunge pool) is ideal for families. For couples wanting privacy, request an end-of-walkway suite for the quietest decks and broadest lagoon outlook.

Dining

Daily-changing, modern Pan-African plates with a strong local-produce ethos. Expect bush breakfasts, leisurely lunches around the lodge or in the hide, and boma or deck dinners. High tea and sundowners are sometimes served on the Queen Silvia barge while floating on the river (when water levels allow).

Packing Tips

Neutral layers for cool mornings/warm middays; wide-brim hat and high-SPF; compact binoculars (8x32 sweet spot); soft-sided duffel to meet bush-flight rules; light scarf/buff for dust and sun.

Insider Tips

Time the underground hide for late-morning siesta when elephants come to drink; book high tea or sundowners on the Queen Silvia barge in dry months. Photographers can request OM System lenses in camp.

Conservation Efforts

Wilderness’ Linyanti presence protects crucial elephant migration routes across KAZA, funds anti-poaching and research, and supports community programmes like Children in the Wilderness; King’s Pool’s rebuild emphasized light-footprint, solar operations and low-impact viewing from hides.
