Forty contemporary safari tents on &Beyond’s private Kichwa Tembo concession beneath the Oloololo Escarpment, where riverine forest meets open Mara plains; by day it’s big-sky game drives and, on the concession, guided walks and after-dark drives, by night a double-storey bar and interactive kitchen set the scene for fireside stories and migration dreams. Sociable, great value and superbly positioned for migration access via the Triangle.

Our Favorite Rooms

Guests who want the widest panorama ask for Superior View tents facing the open plains, families love the Superior Family tents for a linked layout near the main area, while Classic tents tucked by the forest feel most cocooned and attract elephant and bushbuck traffic below the decks.

Dining

An interactive kitchen anchors the food story with produce pulled from the lodge garden; expect deck breakfasts after drive, salad-and-grill lunches and boma nights under the stars. Guests often mention Chef Lazaro and team for thoughtful, tailored plates - think nyama choma from the coals, chapati and kachumbari, Swahili curry nights and still-warm pot-bread.

Packing Tips

Breathable layers for sunny drives and cool dawns, a light windproof for night drives on the escarpment, closed shoes for sandy/rooty paths, a headlamp and a soft duffel if you’re flying between camps.

Insider Tips

Ask for a short tour of the shamba and charcoal fridges before dinner, book one night drive to work the concession for porcupine, serval and civet, and at first light in Jul–Oct, have your guide position for early river-line movement before other vehicles arrive.

Conservation Efforts

Off-road protocols and limited vehicle density keep pressure light on this private concession while still allowing close, respectful sightings; your stay contributes to TANAPA–Narok park management via fees and supports community projects through &Beyond’s Wild Impact, with brand-wide support for Rhinos Without Borders translocations.
