Take a light aircraft from Arusha and fly to Lamai Airstrip (north of the Mara River), then continue by road to camp; routing time varies with wildlife/track conditions and take ~30–60 minutes for the road transfer. Scheduled flights from Arusha/other Serengeti strips connect daily in season.
All tents feature mosquito-netted beds, plumbed en-suite bathrooms with hot showers, a writing desk & standing fan, and a shaded veranda. There is a Family tent (two inter-connecting en-suite bedrooms + shared lounge) for families/two couples wanting space without splitting tents.
Unfussy, generous camp cuisine: continental & hot breakfasts, picnic box lunches for full-day drives, and plated or family-style dinners under canvas or the stars, always private to your booking. Dietary preferences are handled attentively.
Neutral layers (cool dawns Jun–Aug), light rain shell (short rains Nov–Jan), wide-brim hat, polarized sunglasses, soft daypack; ballooning can be chilly - add a warm layer.
Plan 3–4 nights; ask your private guide to work both Mara River viewpoints and quieter Lamai plains for lion/cheetah encounters. We highly suggest to pre-book hot-air ballooning due to limited seats. Private sundowners and private dining are standard here - lean into them.
Guest nights help fund Friedkin Conservation Fund initiatives from anti-poaching and wildlife monitoring to education and community livelihoods across the Greater Serengeti ecosystem.
