Our Favorite Rooms

All tents share similar layout, request a tent on the outer ends for the quietest feel and broader valley outlook. The 2-bedroom family tent suits families of up to four, with two bathrooms and verandah space for private bush-bath set-ups.

Dining

Flexible, a-la-carte style meals with an interactive kitchen that becomes a social hub. Picnic breakfasts/lunches are common on active days, private deck dinners on request and all beverages included, from premium spirits to champagne. Great Plains can cater for all diets with notice.

Packing Tips

Soft 15 kg duffel, neutral layers for cool dawns, wide-brim hat, compact binoculars optional (high-quality pair provided at the lodge).

Insider Tips

Uniquely at this camp, the team can set up a guided bicycle outing on the open plains (weather and wildlife permitting) for golden-hour riding. To linger with sightings, ask for picnic breakfasts (and often lunches) so you don't have to rush back. We recommend that photographers pre-book a private vehicle.
