Fly Arusha (ARK) to Lake Manyara Airstrip ~45 min by light aircraft, then ~1.5–2 h road transfer up to the rim and camp. By road from Arusha allow ~4–5 h.
Request a tent closest to the rim-path for the quietest nights and fastest morning roll-out. Expect a proper bed under canvas, an en-suite with bucket shower (hot water on request), plug points for charging, and a front sitting area perfect for pre-dawn coffee.
Camp-style plated dinners in the dining tent or alfresco (weather permitting). Packed crater picnics for full-day game viewing. In the evenings, enjoy a bar and lounge for fireside nights.
Warm fleece and beanie for chilly rim mornings, scarf for dust on the crater floor, and a dry bag for cameras.
Plan a first-light descent to beat traffic; have the kitchen prep a full picnic hamper so you can stay on the floor through late morning. In green season, scan for flamingos at Lake Magadi after the big-cat rounds.
Through A&K’s regional programmes and NCA fee structures, stays contribute to anti-poaching, road maintenance and community projects linked to conservation.
