Fly into Chem Chem private airstrip (scheduled carriers & charters) then ~10–15 minutes by road to the lodge. It is also possible to drive from Arusha ~2 hours drive or from Kilimanjaro (JRO) ~3.5 hours drive.
With all 8 suites sharing a similar layout, request a far-end suite for the quietest outlook and sweeping pan views. the Family Suite adds a second bedroom/second bathroom in an annex for seamless family flow.
Refined, seasonal menus with lantern-lit deck dinners and private settings under baobabs, house wines/spirits are included. Programs often feature chef-curated menus and flexible private dining. This is "unfussy" fine dining at its best. Anticipate Tanzanian flavours (baobab, local greens) alongside grilled meats and fresh salads.
Neutral layers (chilly dawns Jun–Aug), light rain shell (Nov–Apr), wide-brim hat, polarized sunglasses, swimsuit for the pool, and a soft-sided daypack for camera/binoculars.
Plan a baobab bush breakfast and a sunrise hill climb for corridor views. Use your private guide & vehicle to mix concession walks with half- or full-day forays into Tarangire or Manyara. Three nights lets the “slow safari” cadence really land.
Chem Chem (through Chem Chem Philanthropy & the Association) safeguards ~20,000 ha linking Manyara and Tarangire, funds ranger patrols and human–wildlife coexistence, and supports education and women’s empowerment; the lodge’s operations are deliberately light-footprint.
