Our Favorite Rooms

With only 5 tents you can't go wrong. All have the same layout and set-up with proper beds, flush loos and hot bucket showers. Families value the dedicated family tent when configured.

Dining

Open-fire field kitchen with daily-changing menus, relaxed bush breakfasts after drive, fresh salads and grills at lunch, and lantern-lit dinners by the fire or in the mess tent, signatures guests mention include Swahili pilau with kachumbari, nyama choma from the coals, chapati hot off the pan and citrus tarts or mandazi for something sweet.

Packing Tips

Quick-dry layers for cool dawns and warm middays, a light windproof for open vehicles, closed shoes for sandy or rocky paths, a headlamp and power bank for camp evenings, soft duffel for light aircraft.

Insider Tips

If you’re north in Jul–Oct, ask your guide to work the main Mara River crossing points at first light, if you’re at Ndutu in Dec–Mar, focus on the short-grass plains for calving and predator action, pre-book a balloon where available.

Conservation Efforts

A light-footprint, semi-mobile set-up limits infrastructure and vehicle density on sensitive grasslands while guides log key wildlife data across different sectors of the park. Your stay supports TANAPA park management via fees and, through &Beyond’s Wild Impact, funds community education and water projects; brand-wide, &Beyond co-founded Rhinos Without Borders with Great Plains to bolster regional rhino security.
