Take a scheduled light aircraft from Nairobi Wilson to Olare Orok (Olare Motorogi) ~1 hrs flight time, then followed by ~30–45-min game-drive transfer to camp. Private charters also possible (Weavers airstrip as an alternative). At Great Plains camps, rates include the light-aircraft flights & airstrip transfers/inter-camp hops per routing with a min-stay of 2 nights rule apply.
Interiors pair a freestanding brass/copper bathtub with a generous walk-in shower, double vanities, mosquito-netted bed, standing fan, in-room safe, minibar, 240V charging and in-suite Wi-Fi, plus the complimentary Canon DSLR + lenses and Swarovski-level binoculars that make Mara Plains so camera-ready. Families should target the Jahazi Suite, a private, two-bedroom residence entered through carved Zanzibari doors with a central lounge/dining are, aideal for two couples or parents with kids wanting seclusion and flexible dining.
Relais & Châteaux-level, ingredient-driven menus led on site by Chef Joel Fredrick Ndungu with flexible, no-set-time service. Expect bush breakfasts on drive days, elegant plated lunches, and dinners that lean modern Kenyan with thoughtful vegetarian options. Plan one full-day into the Reserve for migration action, keeping short, flexible conservancy drives for golden hours; and make time for a night drive (~7–10 pm window) when conditions allow - Olare Motorogi is one of the few areas where this is permitted and can deliver serval, bat-eared fox and even big-cat hunts.
