Two intimate camps of nine 1920s-style tents each beneath the Oloololo Escarpment, copper bathtubs, butler service and decks that look onto the Mara plains, the setting is classic safari theatre with day and night drives on the private concession and access into the reserve for Migration drama, the camp sits near the “Out of Africa” finale site and leans into that mood with candlelight, crystal and stories by the fire.

Our Favorite Rooms

Guests often single out North Camp for a quieter, tucked-away feel and broad plains views from higher-set tents, South Camp suits those who like being closer to the gym, shop and gin bar with an easy pool outlook, the Family Tent in North Camp links two tents via an enclosed walkway and books up fast in peak months.

Dining

A camp “theatre” of bush breakfasts on the escarpment, fireside port after dinner and a coffee bar by day, gin bar by night, menus lean shamba-to-table with produce from the garden next door, think nyama choma from the coals, sukuma wiki and chapati, slow-braised lamb or Kenyan curry nights, Chef Joseph and team are often mentioned for warm, tailored service and thoughtful dietary care.

Packing Tips

Breathable layers for warm days and crisp dawns, a light windproof for night drives, closed shoes for sandy and rooty forest paths, a small headlamp and a soft duffel if you’re hopping light aircraft.

Insider Tips

Ask your guide for sundowners on the escarpment where “Out of Africa” bowed out and book one first-light balloon over the Mara River during crossings. If you are a foodie, ask the chefs for a traditional dish- mouthwatering!
