From
A hyper-intimate, water-based Réserve-Collection camp deep in the Okavango: just two elevated tented suites (each with a plunge pool) plus a separate two-bedroom Private Island Suite on its own decked enclave. Design nods to Bayei fishing culture - high, thatched “basket” roofs, reclaimed timbers, vintage rugs - while activities lean to boating, mokoro and guided walking (with fishing in season). Sitatunga antelope are regularly seen from camp, and birding is exceptional.

Our Favorite Rooms

High-set among ebony trees with wrap-around decks, private plunge pool, lounge and mosquito-netted bedroom with eco-cooling over the bed. Sitatunga Private Island Suite (2-bedroom villa): A standalone, air-conditioned residence with two en-suite bedrooms linked by a central lounge/dining space, expansive decks and a larger private pool. Exclusive-use comes with private guide/boat and fully flexible activities—ideal for families or two couples.

Dining

Chef-led, daily-changing menus served on deck or at private set-ups; refined “river people” influences meet polished bush cuisine. Resident Executive Chef Herold features in Great Plains’ Food for Thought series; press mentions call out dishes like beef carpaccio with Szechuan pepper emulsion and ostrich fillet with chilli dark-chocolate sauce alongside elegant camp classics.

Packing Tips

Neutral layers (Jun–Aug dawns are crisp), light rain shell (Nov–Mar), polarized sunglasses, wide-brim hat, swimsuit, soft daypack for kit.

Insider Tips

Plan 3–4 nights to settle into the “slow water” cadence. When levels allow, do a sunrise mokoro and a walk after an hour’s boat ride for fresh tracks. Photographers: the in-suite pro camera set is excellent, bring fast SDs and ask for sunset positions on open lagoons.
