Fly to Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport (HDS) on daily scheduled flights from Johannesburg or Cape Town, then about a one-hour road transfer into the Manyeleti to the Manor; a private airstrip landing is also possible (landing fees apply), and it's roughly a 5.5–6 hour self-drive from Johannesburg.
A single five-bedroom thatched villa taken exclusively, so the "rooms" are really one home. Four double or twin en-suite bedrooms are joined by an adjoining room ideal for two children, all air-conditioned and overlooking the waterhole, around a shared lounge, dining area, shaded patio, boma and pool in a fenced garden. Since it's whole-house, the appeal is the privacy and the family-holiday feel. A sleep-out treehouse deck over the waterhole is available subject to availability, a memorable add-on for a night under the Manyeleti stars.
Fully catered, home-style dining prepared by your private chef, breakfast, lunch and dinner served on the patio or under the stars in the open-air boma, with house wines, soft drinks, teas and coffees included (premium brands extra), and menus tailored entirely to your group.
Neutral safari layers with a warm jacket and beanie for cold winter dawn drives in open vehicles (May–August), lighter clothing for hot summers, closed shoes for any walking, a sun hat, sunscreen and binoculars, insect repellent and antimalarials, swimwear for the pool, smart-casual for dinner, and a good camera, the waterhole in front of the house delivers constant action.
This is a whole-house buyout, so it's ideal for a multi-generational family or group of friends wanting total privacy with their own chef, butler, guide and vehicle, and unlike many Greater Kruger lodges, children of all ages are welcome (with tailored kids' programmes). Being a private reserve, drives go off-road and after dark for excellent Big Five sightings, and the Manyeleti is refreshingly uncrowded. Fly into Hoedspruit Eastgate (about an hour away). The spa and curio shop at the main Tintswalo Safari Lodge are a 5-minute drive.
Tintswalo Manor House sits within the Manyeleti Nature Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger conservation area whose unfenced borders with Kruger, Sabi Sand and Timbavati let wildlife roam freely, and guests can join a meaningful Manyeleti community trip. The reserve is one of the lowveld's quietest and least commercialised, and the wider Tintswalo Collection emphasises heartfelt, community-minded hospitality.
