A small, expedition-style Explorer-Collection camp on the banks of the Selinda Spillway in the 130,000-ha Selinda Reserve. Just four ground-level safari tents evoke classic “under canvas” charm, with guided walking safaris, flexible day & night drives, and canoeing when the Spillway is in flood. Simple by design but impeccably run, it’s the most intimate, adventurous way to do Selinda.

Our Favorite Rooms

All tents are on the ground with mosquito-netted beds, verandas, hot bucket showers (expedition style), proper toilets, and in-tent charging.

Dining

Menus carry a plant-forward influence (founders are plant-based) but still with quality protein (meat) options available - think fresh salads, campfire breads and elegant but unfussy plated mains. Private deck or lantern-lit dinners happen often here.

Tips

Packing Tips

Soft duffel; neutral layers (cool dawns Jun–Aug); light rain shell (Nov–Mar); a buff for dust on open vehicles; sandals/swimsuit for Spillway dips when conditions allow; small headlamp.

Insider Tips

Mix big-range drives with at least one guided walk and when the Spillway runs, ask for a canoe at golden hour and a boat-in/drive-back combo for variety. Work the treeline edges at first/last light for wild dog and lion. Very unique feature at this lodge: Accompanied by a guide, guests can swim the cool waters of the spillway!
