Opened in December 2025, a small, high-privacy camp on a private concession in Akagera National Park, with only a two-bed private villa plus two standalone couple suites - each with its own plunge pool, skybed sleep-out, in-tent Wi-Fi, and access to a gym/wellness centre. Safaris combine day/night drives with boating and a private pontoon on Lake Rwanyakazinga.

Our Favorite Rooms

For families or small groups, the Private Villa (two en-suite bedrooms + flexible third en-suite room/gym/kids room) is the standout. For couples, request one of the end twin suites for maximum privacy (the suites are spaced ~200 m apart)

Dining

Refined, seasonal menus with Rwandan touches — think fresh lake-fish, excellent local coffee, and Wilderness favourites like a Kugisha dinner under the stars and the beloved Rolex breakfast wrap; private villa dining is available. (Head-chef names not yet published.)

Tips

Packing Tips

Neutral layers for dawn/evening drives, a light waterproof for summer showers, a wide-brim hat and high-SPF sunscreen, and strong insect repellent for boat outings; binoculars are very rewarding here.

Insider Tips

Book at least one star-bed night. Don’t miss a sunset pontoon cruise on Lake Rwanyakazinga and ask your guide about joining a predator ID/monitoring activity when available. Heli transfers cut long road hours to ~25 minutes.

Conservation Efforts

Magashi Peninsula sits within Akagera’s co-managed conservation model (RDB + African Parks): expect active lion/leopard ID and monitoring, rhino protection, invasive-plant management, and locally staffed operations; the camp is built to light-footprint standards and is deeply tied to community education and employment.
