Fly into Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport, followed by a 1.5 to 2-hour road transfer into the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve.
All 8 tents are well positioned for privacy, but those with the most open valley views offer the strongest experience. Expect pavilion-style safari tents with separate bathroom tents, indoor and outdoor showers, private decks with daybeds, and uninterrupted views over the riverbed and bush.
Dining is intimate and relaxed, often served on the main deck or in the boma. Expect well-executed safari cuisine, with the setting and views playing a big part in the overall experience.
Neutral safari clothing, a warm layer for early mornings, and something comfortable for time around camp between drives.
This is more about atmosphere than constant river traffic. Lean into the views, the quiet, and the more romantic, elevated setting compared to lower-lying lodges.
