Forest Lodge suites offer the most distinctive experience, set on stilts above the ancient milkwood forest with uninterrupted ocean views. Garden Lodge suites are slightly more traditional and family-friendly, set within landscaped gardens. The private villas provide complete exclusivity, ideal for families or groups seeking space, privacy, and a more residential feel. Across all categories, expect spacious suites with fireplaces, large bathrooms, private decks, and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.
Dining is refined yet relaxed, with a strong focus on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Meals are served with sweeping views over the reserve and ocean, with a balance between contemporary presentation and a sense of place. Rates are based on full board and include a breakfast buffet with a la carte breakfast menu, a light lunch, and à la carte dinner

Prioritise a guided fynbos or botanical walk. Grootbos is less about wildlife sightings and more about understanding the richness of the ecosystem. A range of activities is included in the nightly rate, including horse riding for both non-experienced and experienced riders through the reserve, as well as excursions to the ancient Klipgat Cave and along the Walker Bay Nature Reserve coastline.
