A boutique lodge of luxury cabins set in serene, untouched forest on a peninsula on the shores of Lake Victoria, midway between Entebbe and Kampala yet only about fifteen kilometres from the international airport, eight cabins thoughtfully designed to pair modern comfort with full forest immersion so you wake to a symphony of birdsong, a restaurant, lounge, bar and swimming pool at its heart and a sundowner terrace looking over the lake, days can take in guided forest walks, kayaking and pedal boats on Lake Victoria, or a short boat trip to the rescued chimps of Ngamba Island, a perfect start to an Uganda safari.

Our Favorite Rooms

Four cabin types, all forest-immersed and built for the birdsong, the three Deluxe cabins each run 56 m² (the Single sleeps one adult plus a small child, the Double a king and a day bed for two adults and a child, the Triple three singles), while the standout for groups is the generous 137 m² Family Cabin with two king and two single beds for up to four adults and two children.

Dining

A restaurant, lounge and bar form the heart of the lodge, with meals (widely praised by guests) served amid the forest and pool, and drinks on the Sundowner Terrace as the sky turns gold over Lake Victoria.

Packing Tips

Light, breathable clothing for the warm lakeside climate, insect repellent for dusk by the water, a light layer for cooler evenings, swimwear for the pool, binoculars for the forest birds, plus your antimalarials, an easy bag for a transit night either side of your main safari.

Insider Tips

This is the ideal first or last night of a Uganda trip, about a 30-minute drive from the airport and far calmer than staying in Kampala traffic, add a half-day boat trip to the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary on Lake Victoria, and ask about an early-morning birding boat to nearby Mabamba Swamp for the prehistoric-looking shoebill before a flight out. It's a genuinely restful place to decompress after gorilla or chimp trekking.
