Drive from Johannesburg, approx. 5 hours via the N1 to Louis Trichardt, followed by a 1-hour drive to the reserve and a further 30-minute ascent up the mountain.
The luxury suites at Venda Art Lodge offer the best balance of comfort and immersion, with private plunge pools and expansive valley views. Expect thatched, art-filled spaces with en suite bathrooms, outdoor showers, fireplaces, and a strong connection to local Venda culture.
Dining varies by accommodation type, from fully catered stays to self-catering options. Meals focus on hearty, home-style cuisine, often enjoyed in relaxed, open-air settings overlooking the landscape.
Bring good walking shoes, layered clothing for changing mountain temperatures, and a torch for evenings.
